Electrodes and Sensors

Sensors can be made utilizing the controlled porosity of ceramic bodies.

Chemical impregnation into the pores holds molecules in a durable three dimensional space.  Depending on the sensing design, the signal could be a voltage, current flow, ion transport, or other mechanism across the porous substrate.  The impregnated porous element could be a reservoir that slowly releases a sensing agent as a function of some input.

A pressure drop across the porous element can be measured as function of system changes.  The resistance to flow can be modulated depending on surface charge.
