Catalytic Supports
Catalytic supports come in many configurations. At the fine end, honeycomb structures are extruded or pressed to optimize surface area. The surfaces are then coated with the catalysts. At the other design end, relatively coarse structures are pressed into plates which hold separate catalyst gauzes, meshes, etc. with minimal impedance to fluid flow. The image shows a gauze support. The technology allows up to 24 X 36 inch plates to be pressed. These in turn can be wet welded into larger segments.
