Shape or Configuration Boundaries Expanded
Near net shape components can be
formed in various engineered materials and
porosities. Seneca Ceramics' proprietary pressing
or extrusion methods allow very high resolution surface features.
Exceptionally large items can be made by wet welding of green components before
firing. For medium to large items Seneca Ceramics can provide high value.
For technical ceramics the part designer is no longer limited to conditions
imposed by dry pressing or liquid forming techniques such as casting with
subsequent extensive machining to achieve tolerances. Hydro-plastic
forming, without organic aids, allows stress-free flow of material into
intricate shapes without costly machining. Only water is removed by the
thermal processing which greatly reduces shrinkages and allows fault free
cross-sections and dimensions previously unavailable.
Time restraints are reduced with rapid prototyping.
Fully functional parts representing mass production quality, not hand fabricated
specially formed parts are available in weeks not months time. |
